Q: What is a custom NiMH battery, and what exactly can be customized?
A custom NiMH battery is a nickel-metal hydride cell or assembled pack built to your specification rather than bought off the shelf. We customize size and capacity, cell layout (series/parallel), voltage, nickel tabs or wire leads, connectors, PCM/BMS protection, shrink or hard housing, labels and packaging to match your device and certification needs.
Q: Which sizes and capacities can you manufacture?
We produce all standard NiMH sizes — AA, AAA, A, Sub C, C, D, F and 9V — plus special and prismatic sizes. Capacity follows the size and grade, for example AA from roughly 600 to 2700 mAh, Sub C up to about 4200 mAh and D up to about 10000 mAh; exact ratings are confirmed against your discharge and cycle-life target.
Q: What voltages are available for custom NiMH packs?
Each NiMH cell is nominally 1.2 V. Packs are built in series to reach common voltages such as 2.4, 3.6, 4.8, 6, 7.2, 8.4, 9.6, 12, 14.4, 18 and 24 V, and in parallel to add capacity. We can build non-standard voltages and multi-cell strings to your schematic.
Q: What is the MOQ for a custom NiMH order?
MOQ is flexible and depends on size, capacity and the level of customization. Standard cells and packs can start from a low trial quantity, while fully custom tabs, housings or private-label packaging may carry a higher MOQ. Tell us your requirement and we will confirm the exact MOQ in the quotation.
Q: Which certifications and shipping documents do you provide?
We supply CE, RoHS and REACH compliance documents, MSDS/SDS, UN38.3 transport summaries and IEC 62133-related reports as applicable, so packs can clear customs and ship by sea or air. Specific reports for your destination market are confirmed before order.
Q: How long do samples and mass production take?
We quote within 24 hours and prepare samples on request. Standard samples usually ship within days, and average mass-production lead time after order confirmation is about 15 days, varying with order size and customization complexity.
Q: Can you add tabs, wires, connectors and protection circuits?
Yes. We spot-weld nickel tabs or tags, add silicone or PVC lead wires, fit common connectors (JST, Molex, XT60 and custom), and integrate PCM/BMS boards for over-charge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit protection, plus NTC thermistors when required.
Q: NiMH vs Li-ion — which chemistry fits my device better?
Choose NiMH when you need intrinsic safety, tolerance of overcharge/over-discharge, a flat 1.2 V platform, wide-temperature operation, simpler air shipping and lower cost per cycle in moderate-energy designs. Choose Li-ion when maximum energy density and light weight dominate. We manufacture both and will recommend the chemistry that fits your load, space and certification profile.
Q: Do you support private label and custom packaging?
Yes. We print your logo and part-number labels, supply custom blister, box or bulk packaging, and can follow your artwork and barcode (UPC/EAN) requirements for retail, distribution or industrial programs.
